They Just Call It a "#9" Now

Whatever it was that Gov. Eliot Spitzer of New York was soliciting from his expensive hooker wasn't released in the criminal complaint that was publicized yesterday, but it looks like he's been at it long enough that they just call it a "#9" now:
March 11, 2008 — Gov. Eliot Spitzer has been soliciting high-priced hookers for at least six years and possibly for more than a decade, sources tell The Post.

The revelation yesterday that the crusading governor was in fact “Client 9” named in a federal prostitution indictment did not shock insiders in the city’s sex industry.

Sources tell The Post that Spitzer had frequented high-priced hookers as far back as 2002 and possibly earlier
.

Drip. Drip. Drip. The revelations will just keep coming and the only way to make them stop is to resign. He still probably harbors illusions that he's above the law and can escape with this job like his hero Bill Clinton, but Spitzer doesn't have the popular support of his party or his constituents to pull that off. The longer this goes on the more damage he does to his party.

UPDATE: These headlines from Drudge:

DOW UP OVER 400...

Best one-day rise since 2002...

They're probably not connected, but don't you think the folks on Wall Street were feeling pretty good today about the troubles that have suddenly struck "The Sheriff of Wall Street"?
