Adventures in Advertising

I'm not a drinker of spirits, but some who are noticed an unusual ad which came to light recently in Mexican publications.

This is commonly known as the "reconquista" view of North America in which we magically revert to borders from somewhat prior to 1848. There are folks actively pushing this idea, and certainly one of the aims of flooding the Southwest with Mexican labor - and eventually Mexican voters if the Democrats have their way - is to all but make this a reality.

The company at first defended the ad, and then issued a "genuine and sincere apology". The ad may have played well south of the (actual) border, but is taking a lot of heat here in the Estados Unidos de America. I don't think Absolut will be setting any new sales records in Norte America.
