SCRANTON, Pennsylvania (CNN) – After a weekend spent making direct appeals to gun owners and church goers, Hillary Clinton said Sunday a query about the last time she fired a gun or attended church services "is not a relevant question in this debate” over Barack Obama’s recent comments on small town Americans.
“We can answer that some other time,” Clinton said at a press conference held in a working class neighborhood here. “This is about what people feel is being said about them. I went to church on Easter. I mean, so?”
Under normal circumstances Clinton would probably be right, but after savaging Obama for his "bitter America" statements and claiming he's "out of touch", it's a fair question to see if Mrs. Clinton is in touch with the values she claims her opponent doesn't have.
She would prefer not to answer that question because in this day and age any embellishment or resume' enhancement can be quickly found out (such as the "sniper" attack on Tuzla as she was landing). I think Obama's statement will have the dual benefit of hurting both candidates.
