Read the Lefties if You Want a Laugh

I use Bloglines to manage all the different blogs that I read, and I decided recently to add a bunch more so I'll have plenty of reading material for the election. I'm up to 42 different sites that I watch (plus several others like Drudge, Fox News and The Corner), and I decided to throw caution to the wind and include a couple of hard lefty sites in my blog list, including DailyKos and Talking Points Memo. I'm glad I did because for sheer entertainment you can't beat the lefty blogs.

Here's a couple of examples from posts at Kos. The first has to do with the defeat of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which could just as easily be described as the Trial Lawyers Fair Pay Act. The Kos Kids were not pleased:

Republicans in the Senate, in their ever expanding mission to screw the American worker, blocked consideration today of H.R. 2831, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act in a 56-42 cloture vote (Reid voted against cloture for procedural reasons, so he can bring the bill back to the floor in the future)....

Sound familiar? It's the Protect AT&T Act all over again. Damn the rule of law, damn the rights of Americans. Let's make some money. It's the Republican way.

Yep, that's us Republicans - just in it for the money.

And then there was this regarding Jimmuh Carter's meeting with Hamas and whether he was warned by the State Department not to go:

As President Carter came out his meeting with Hamas, there were varying opinions about whether his visit had made significant diplomatic process. However, one thing was very clear. When asked, Jimmy Carter said that the administration had not warned him against meeting with Hamas. Then Condoleeza Rice said that he had been warned.

Rice said in Kuwait on Tuesday: "We counseled President Carter against going to the region and particularly against having contact with Hamas."

Today, Carter had an explanation for this discrepancy: Rice is lying.

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter on Wednesday accused Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice of not telling the truth about warnings she said her department gave Carter not to speak to Hamas before a Middle East trip.

No matter what you think of Carter's visit, there's one thing that indisputable. Jimmy Carter tells the truth, even when -- maybe even especially when -- it's politically dangerous.

On the other hand, Condoleezza Rice has a record of twisting the facts way, way, way past the breaking point. Her demonstrated integrity involves eight years of misdirections, misstatements, and outright lies.
...

Is there still anyone, anywhere this side of Bill O'Reilly who is silly enough to believe Rice over Carter?

Believing Jimmuh over Condi - now that's entertainment!

Just a word of caution, don't read the lefty blogs if you're allergic to four-letter words. They throw them around over there pretty freely - probably due to a lack of ability to express themselves with maturity. It's still good for a laugh, though.
