Sunday Morning Music From the Army Chorus

If you saw the welcoming ceremony for the Pope at the White House earlier this week you heard the stirring Peter Wilhousky arrangement of "Battle Hymm of the Republic" as sung by the U.S. Army Chorus. The arrangement was originally done for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Rush Limbaugh, who hears only through a cochlear implant, was so moved by the performance he played it several times on his radio show.

I've sung this same arrangement many, many times, including in 1976 when the church choir I traveled with sang it on the steps of the Capitol building and in the Pentagon mall (we also sang it in New York City on that trip). If you missed the performance this week, here it is:
