Barack Obama has been called a lot of names while running for president, and now he has a new one to add to the list: Awe Kooda Bilaxpak Kuuxshish.
He picked it up on a visit in Montana yesterday for a rally at the Crow reservation, when he was adopted as a member of the Black Eagle family. Translated, the name they gave him means "One Who Helps People Throughout the Land."
Crow Vice Chairman Cedric Black Eagle tells the Associated Press that a purification ceremony was performed in which the candidate faced east -- the source of new life -- and was prayed over by his adopted father, Hartford Black Eagle.
Isn't Mecca also to the east? Just asking.
