This quote from yesterday's Memorial Day speech by Barack Obama:
On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.Barack Obama, for all his eloquence, has proven to be a gaffe machine when he goes off teleprompter. Both Powerline and Michelle Malkin have running features on Obama's various verbal boo-boos.
As Hot Air points out, the Obama campaign seems to have a false understanding of the Memorial Day holiday:
For most Americans, Memorial Day is a day to honor our nation’s war dead. However, the Obama team has re-imagined the holiday, as made clear in this comment responding to an attack from John McCain: ...
Obama’s camp declined to hit back, with spokesman Bill Burton saying “Memorial Day is a day to honor our nation’s veterans, not a day for political posturing.”
Actually, we call that Veteran's Day and it comes in November. If Obama wants to be the president somebody needs to school him on the difference.
