Sonoma State Band Concert

Tonight was the band concert for the Sonoma State University Symphonic Band of which my daughter is a member. I took a few shots of the evening. First, the requisite Mother's Day shot of Mom and daughter

She plays both flute and piccolo, so here we have the flute player hard at work:

And now for my artsy shot - the piccolo player framed by a trombone slide:Annie Leibovitz ain't got nothing on me.

Finally, a well deserved bow:

After the show we headed over to Mary's Pizza Shack in Rohnert Park for a quick dinner, and much to our delight, they gave the moms a free slice of mud pie. Of course, mom couldn't eat it all herself so we all had to share.

We'll be back up here next weekend for two more concerts, one which will feature her on a lengthy solo flute sonata, and she'll also be playing in the Honors Woodwind Quintet and a special quartet featuring guitar, oboe and voice. Should be good.
