ANAHEIM – The east 91 freeway was closed for hours this morning from Brookhurst to Euclid streets while authorities investigated an officer-involved shooting that left a man in his mid-40s dead and a driver nearby injured.
The freeway opened at 9:15 a.m.
The man, who has not been identified, is suspected of shooting an Anaheim police officer at 8 a.m. Sunday during a gunbattle that erupted after two police officers were sent to the Best Western Raffles Inn & Suites in the 2000 block of Harbor Boulevard, near Orangewood Avenue. The officers were investigating reports of a man exposing himself to women and children through a motel window, said Anaheim police Sgt. Tim Schmidt.
There's one less "wienie-wagger" in the world. You just don't do that in the home city of Disneyland.
And this is one time that turning on your flashers on the freeway would not be a good idea.
