Today's Fun Spam Email

Today's entry is a variation on the many bank phishing schemes that are running around out there:
Following a request we received online, by phone, or at a Bank of America branch, we have changed or added your email address for Bank of America Online® :

New primary email address : prv8m1@aol.com

Your Bank of America account details will be updated shortly.

Date of change : June 07 2008

Time of change : 5:02 PM

IP Address : 172.168.40.227

Hostname : ACA828E3.ipt.aol.com

If this account update was not submitted by you, please follow the link below and update your Bank of America account details.

They are "banking" (so to speak) on the idea that you'll panic when you think that your email is being changed and will click on their link to fix it. Of course, the website address listed is not where you'll be directed if you click on the link (which I've disabled). It goes to some site designed to look like an official BofA site where you'll be suckered into giving them your personal information.

These things are never legitimate.
