ABC Edited Out Answers That Didn't Fit the Template that Palin is Unprepared

Newsbusters has a lengthy piece in which they have taken the FULL transcript of Charlie Gibson's interview with Sarah Palin and have pointed out all the stuff that ABC edited out, much of which would have painted Palin in much better light. It's clear that ABC had an agenda going into this interview, and that agenda was to embarrass Palin and the ticket and show her as unprepared for office. The full transcript shows a completely different picture than what ABC broadcast. Take a look at it at the link.

One thing the GOP campaign needs to do is provide their own camera crew at these events and release a full copy of the unedited interview to counterbalance the edited versions the media puts out. Have a camera there with the assurance that a full version will be released may cut down on some of the media shenanigans and make them a little more honest in their editing out of fear of being shown as the partisans they are.

UPI also ran a piece on the first night's interview and how Charlie Gibson's inquisitor style may backfire on the media and the Dems.

Rush Limbaugh pointed out on his show that Charlie Gibson's real audience was not the American people, but his peers in the news business like Brian Williams, Katie Couric, Dan Rather and Tom Brokaw. He was trying to prove to them what a tough news guy he could be by bullying a woman candidate that he doesn't feel is up to the job. It may have impressed his newsie colleagues, but the American people were insulted.

UPDATE: Here's another piece from Hot Air comparing the questions posed by Gibson to Palin to the questions posed by him to Barack Obama. There's a striking difference.

UPDATE 2: Glenn Reynolds has an op-ed in the New York Post supporting the wisdom of Palin bringing her own cameras to interviews. It will tick off the media, and that's good.
