SYLMAR -- A pedestrian has been struck and killed by a Metrolink train in the San Fernando Valley, authorities said.
It happened around 9:15 a.m. at Hubbard Street and San Fernando Road in the Sylmar area.
It was not immediately known how the pedestrian got onto the tracks. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
No one on the train was injured.
The train was stopped at the scene of the crash and Hubbard Street was closed in the area while the investigation continued.
Radio reports indicate the victim was a 50-year old male, the second 50-year old male hit by a train since Sunday. The previous accident occurred in Laguna Niguel and involved an Amtrak train.
