Bailout Vote Fails in House Vote - Dow Plunges

The Dow has plunged over 500 points and the vote on the bailout in the House now reads 206 Yea, 227 Nay with no time remaining.

Stand by for updates.

Although time for voting has expired, votes are continuing to change meaning there's some serious strong-arming going on right now. The "Yea's" still need 11 votes to switch to pass the measure.

UPDATE: Here's the vote as it stands. 207 Yea 226 Nay 1 No Vote. Voting still hasn't been closed.:

Democrat 141 Yea 94 Nay
Republican 66 Yea 132 Nay 1 No Vote

No wonder the Democrats were desperate for GOP votes.

Dow now down 500 and plunging.

UPDATE 2: BAILOUT BILL FAILS IN HOUSE BY 12 VOTES. DOW PLUNGING.

How long until Democrats start claiming that the original bill would have passed but John McCain's interference created a bill that couldn't pass? Just watch.

UPDATE 3: Nancy Pelosi's partisan (and error-filled) speech enrages Republicans and kills the bailout bill.
