If you were to line the speeches up from the two conventions and compare styles you would notice one striking difference - anger. When the Democrats attacked McCain and the Republicans, it was with anger and rage. When the Republicans attacked Obama, the Dems and the media, for the most part it was with humor. Rudy showed a little anger when he blasted the opposition for questioning Sarah Palin's ability to manage a family and a job, but otherwise the knives were stuck in with humor, sarcasm and wit.
My advice to John McCain tonight is don't get mad, get funny. Humor is more memorable than anger and does more damage. Can anyone quote me any of the angry lines from Obama, Biden or both Clintons? Probably not, but I'll bet you can remember lots of funny lines from Thompson, Giuliani and Palin.
Go get 'em, John, but keep it funny.
