Engineer May Have Been Texting Right Before Metrolink Crash

The death toll has now reached 25 in Friday's Metrolink commuter train crash, and CNN is reporting that the engineer may have been text messaging someone right before the accident which could have distracted him from seeing the red stop signal. I would have thought that something like that would have been prohibited a long time ago.

HolyCoast Mom sent me this comment:
Some teenagers said that they were texting the engineer and received texts from him just at the time the crash happened. He had been "mentoring" these boys who wanted to be engineers some day. (Channel 9 reported this and spoke to the teenagers.)
