Going to "An American Carol"

I hope you will join me in making a trek to your local theater this weekend to see "An American Carol". Given that it opens against Bill Maher's effort to ridicule every person of faith in the world it would be nice to see "An American Carol" kick his scrawy liberal butt.

The numbers generated the first weekend set the stage for the success or failure of a movie, so if you're going to see it, go this weekend. You won't be alone.

There is an article about the film at The Register, but no review. The producers did not send the film out to the reviewers knowing they'd try to kill it before it even opened.

I'm going tonight. I'm actually giving up home high school football game. It's homecoming and I hate the stupid student-created halftime extravaganzas. If the marching band was performing I would have gone.

I think the audiences for this movie will be one big party. People will look around and see a lot of other people who think like they do and it'll be lots of fun. I'll post my own review tonight or tomorrow.

UPDATE: From HolyCoast Dad who saw an early afternoon showing: "It's a riot!"

UPDATE 2: Another review here.

UPDATE 3: My review here.
