Went to see Collage 1, a concert put on by the music department of Sonoma State University. The program was designed to show off the variety of music offered at the school and included the wind ensemble, choir, a guitar chorus, a string trio, piano soloist, two jazz groups, and a flute, cello and piano trio featuring my daughter and her friends. They all did a nice job.
Afterwards we took the girl to Red Lobster for dinner. She's been living on frozen pizza and macaroni for the most part, so going out was a pretty big deal. She attacked her coconut shrimp and snow crab legs like a condemned man having his last meal.
We took her shopping, got her a toaster oven for the dorm room and some supplies and she showed off some of the work she's been doing in her conducting class. We'll see her again in the morning, do a little more shopping, and get lunch before making the long trip back home again. It was worth the 1,000 miles.
