You've Never Had a More Disparate Choice in Movies This Weekend

There are two movies opening on Friday and they couldn't be more different. First, the one that I'm going to go see -An American Carol:

I've written about this movie before. The trailer is here, and more info here. It's a direct shot at the lefty media and all those who believe the same wacky things. The lefty media will ignore it, but it's getting a lot of buzz in the conservative blogosphere. The only way for this movie to get the attention that hopefully it deserves is for it to have a big opening weekend. If you think you're going to go see it, go this weekend and add to those numbers.

The other movie, which I wouldn't go see even if they brought a projector and set it up in my living room, is Religulous:

That graphic may not be the one you see in the U.S. I've seen several versions that are somewhat less offensive for the American audience. The graphic above is being used in Europe where there's even less respect for religion than here in the U.S.

This movie is Bill Maher's attempt to ridicule all religion with special emphasis on Christianity. From what I've read he tiptoes much more carefully around Islam. I wonder why?

It would be a great thing if when the weekend box office numbers are released An American Carol is at the top of the weekend gross, and Religulous doesn't even make the top ten. It's just gross.
