WASHINGTON – Attorney General Michael Mukasey collapsed during a speech Thursday night and was being taken to a hospital.I'll update it as information comes in.
Associate Attorney General Kevin O'Connor said Mukasey began shaking while addressing the Federalist Society at a Washington hotel.
"He just started shaking and he collapsed," O'Connor said. "They're very concerned."
O'Connor said he did not know whether Mukasey, 67, had regained consciousness."
Mukasey was 20 minutes into his speech before he collapsed.

Mukasey is a former federal prosecutor from New York City who succeeded former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
At 10:30 p.m. Eastern, medical officials were still working on him on the stage, administration witnesses said.
WASHINGTON – Attorney General Michael Mukasey was conscious and alert early Friday — and took a get-well call from President Bush — just hours after he collapsed during a speech to a black-tie dinner.
White House press secretary Dana Perino sent out word to reporters that Bush telephoned his attorney general just before 7 a.m. EST Friday and said that Mukasey "sounded well and is getting excellent care."
