The GM Carpool

When the word came out at the auto execs were going to drive to Washington D.C., I made this comment:
They better be driving hybrids or electric cars or you know they'll never hear the end of it. If there's even one SUV in the caravan Pelosi will blow an artery.
Don Surber fills in the details of the carpool:
Question: What did the CEO of GM drive to DC to pick up his welfare check?

Answer: A hybrid Malibu. And a Buick Lucerne. And a Chevy Cobalt XFE. And a Chevy Volt. PC, PC, PC, PC.

Question: What would you have driven?

Answer: Don the GM CEO would have driven a Corvette, with his posse arriving a Hummer, a Cadillac CTS and a 16-cylinder Caddy and told Congress, keep the cash: We’re gonna build a million of these bad boys a year and sell them in China, Brazil, India and other emerging nations. The American market is saturated. With profit margins of $5,000 a vehicle, we’ll be billionaires and in 2012, I’ll finance my own presidential campaign.

Instead, we’ll get a repeat of Chrysler 1980 and the Japanese and Korea will dominate the auto world.

Probably true.
