SANDUSKY, Ohio -- Cedar Point has donated more than $6,500 found in the park last summer to local charities.
The Sandusky amusement park gave more than $5,700 of the money dropped by visitors to the Victory Temple Soup Kitchen in Sandusky.
The park will also make a donation of almost $800 to the Northwest Ohio Aluminum Cans for Burned Children Fund of the Burn Care and Reconstructive Center at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
During the season, Cedar Point employees collect and turn in money found along the midway, beneath rides and in the park's water fountain.
The Sandusky amusement park's Loose Change Fund began in 1988 and since has collected and donated more than $182,000 to local charities.
Nice work, Cedar Point.
