Schuller Jr. Resigns From Crystal Cathedral

I don't think anyone is surprised that shortly after he was fired from the church's TV ministry Robert Schuller Jr. (he's not really a junior, but everyone thinks of him that way) would depart the church. In fact, one blogger wrote this:
Although the article says Robert Jr. will be remaining on at the church, I wouldn't be surprised to hear soon that he's departing for "a new opportunity".

And here's comes the announcement:
The Rev. Robert A. Schuller stepped down as senior pastor of Crystal Cathedral, a month after he was removed from the church's weekly syndicated television broadcast, the church announced.

In a news release on Crystal Cathedral's Web site, church officials said they had accepted Schuller's resignation. Schuller, 54, is the son of Crystal Cathedral's founder, the Rev. Robert H. Schuller.

"Robert continues to be a valued and long-standing member of the Classis of the Reformed Church in America," the announcement said. "It is expected that Robert will make an announcement soon regarding plans for his new ministry. The leadership and congregation wishes him all the best as his plans unfold."

The only question now is whether he'll relocate out of the area, or will he return to South Orange County where he used to lead a satellite flock in San Juan Capistrano?
