Back in September of 2007 I took my daughter to see the San Francisco Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. We had a great time, and given her interest in orchestral music, I'm sure she was imaging herself sitting just below our seats among the orchestra members.
Well, she just might get that chance thanks to the YouTube Symphony Orchestra. Check this out:
She's already played Carnegie Hall once, but wouldn't it be something to do it again with musicians from all over the world. She'll be working on the audition during her Christmas vacation (and after we get her flute overhauled - she's pretty hard on that thing).
This post also gives me an excuse to run a photo of her performing at Sonoma State University Sunday night, playing the Bach Sonata in A minor, a three-movement flute solo piece that runs nearly 10 minutes.
Rick Moore is a life-long conservative, pretty darn good bass singer, and long time political junkie. He's been posting his commentary at HolyCoast.com since September, 2004.
