The blue rail car in the back was the official train. The silver car in front was the decoy, complete with a rear platform and flags. I'd be interested in knowing where they got that car and how much it cost to run a second train that day.

The Decoy Train
Marc Ambinder was on the Lincoln throwback train ride into Washington and reported (after the trip ended) that along with the official Obama train, a decoy train had accompanied the trip. He shot this photo of the two trains together:
