Burris Won't Quit But He Won't Run Again Either

That's the message that Sen. Roland Burris will be giving to his senior Senator Dick Durbin:
Lynn Sweet has the scoop: "Burris will also be sending, directly or indirectly (maybe this is it) two messages: he will not resign in the wake of the controversy surrounding his appointment by the ousted Gov. Blagojevich and he will not run for the seat in 2010. Burris has finally realized that not seeking election next year is the least price he will pay."

He's decided to take the Larry Craig route (no, he won't be hanging out in airport restrooms). He knows he's poison but doesn't want to give up a cushy job until he has to. They can't really force him out, at least with what they have on him now, so he's content to ride it out as long as he can.

I wonder if the networks will show any pictures of him during tonight's Obama speech to Congress?
