The Earth Mother Look

Being from youth-obsessed Orange County, if you see an older woman with long gray hair, no make-up (and possibly a mustache), chances are she's standing at some freeway offramp with a sign and all her wordly possessions in a shopping cart. That's not true in Northern California.

I don't know if it's aging hippie syndrome or the people up here just don't care how about their appearance, but the earth mother look is everywhere. I can't think of another part of the country I've been in where I've seen so much long gray hair on women (and men, for that matter).

I've gotta tell you, it's not that attractive.
