We know there's a concerted effort on the part of the Dems, from the White House down, to declare radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh the de facto head of the Republican Party and in turn tar every Republican by association. Although every senior Dem and their media cohorts are tooting the same horn, this AOL poll would indicate that they're not being terribly successful. Online polls are not scientific, but can be reflective of the mood of the public.

That first question about Rush's role in the party is especially interesting. The public is not as stupid as the Dems would like to think they are.
According to this Politico piece plans have been underway to target Limbaugh since last Fall.
President Bush was attacked vigorously day after day on liberal talk radio (such as it was), liberal blogs, and for good measure, the mainstream media. So, how did he handle it?
He ignored them. That's what grown-ups do.
