Two Parent Families

I was raised in a two parent home (and they're still going after 53 years), my kids are being raised in a two parent home (after nearly 22 years), but many others don't have that luxury. Some new numbers from the Census Bureau are rather surprising:
The percentage of children living with two parents varied by race and origin. Eighty-five percent of Asian children lived with two parents, as did 78 percent of white non-Hispanic children, 70 percent of Hispanic children and 38 percent of black children.

Keep in mind the black community has an illegitimacy rate of something north of 70%.

How did the numbers get so back among blacks? Three words: War on Poverty. We replaced black fathers with government checks, and the more kids the bigger the checks.

That war was lost long ago and yet we continue to think we can win it with more and more money.
