Just got back from the Railway Festival at the Orange Empire Railway Museum. Here are some quick shot - more later including some video. Along with the trains they also had some classic firetrucks, like this Crown beauty that used to serve with the Redlands Fire Department:
The were running the Ventura County #2 Steam Engine and we took a ride on that train over to the Perris depot and back - a little over a mile each direction:
I paid an extra $10 and got to ride in the cab of Southern Pacific 3100, the diesel locomotive that was pulling one of the trains on the mainline. Here I am getting ready to board:
My new camera also takes video, so after I finish editing a bit I'll put up some video, including film from the cab as we rode down the mainline. Here was the view from the cab as we left the museum station:
