Funny how life goes full circle sometimes. Back when I was in college I spent about 9 months as an early morning delivery guy for The Register (now The Orange County Register). That was in 1976-77. I got up at 3:30 am seven days a week, picked up my papers in Costa Mesa, and then drove down to Irvine to deliver to about 200 homes in the Turtle Rock area. The hours were bad and the pay worse so I didn't stay with it.
In the early 90's I had my one and only published op-ed printed in that paper and received the handsome sum of $50 for my effort. I never could get them to buy anything else.
Today I was notified by The Orange County Register that they have added HolyCoast.com to their online local blog listings. Hopefully a few other Orange County folks will be tempted to wander over to this site.
At least now I don't have to get up at 3:30 am every day to get them their news.
