I don't watch talent shows like American Idol. They just don't appeal to me, and frankly I'm not interested in watching someone with no discernable talent humiliated on national TV. It just bothers me.
Consequently, when I saw a lot of people on Facebook referring to this video I wasn't really interested. It features a 47-year old British woman on a Brit TV talent show who, judging by her appearance, you'd never expect to have the voice of a Broadway star. It's a classic example of not being able to judge a book by its cover.
It's worth a look. You'll be amazed as I was. There's more about the performance here.
