The Palestinian Peace Fantasy

Don Surber has some thoughts on the latest useless effort in the Middle East:
President Obama — like his predecessors — fails to grasp the basic problem: Palestinians do not want peace.

And until a president realizes that basic fact of life, he is doomed to waste a lot of time, prestige and money chasing that unicorn.

President Obama put on his unicorn hunting gear early — usually Peace in the Middle East is a third-year sport, but the frosh president is believing his PR.

This is not a put-down. Every president at some point thinks he’s omnipotent and he will magically cut this Gordian Knot.

His demand that Israel adopt a two-state policy was met with polite diplomacy from Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, who lives in Israel and realizes that the Palestinians want a one-state solution — and that state is not Israel.

You cannot cut a deal with someone who wants you and your people eliminated from the gene pool.

The only way to have peace in tha region is for one or the other to be removed from the area. Otherwise, this will go on forever and no president will ever be able to fix it.
