Three Days in June

There are three anniversaries of note this week:

• June 4 - the 67th anniversary of the Battle of Midway, the turning point in the Pacific War. It was pretty much all downhill for the Japanese after that.
• June 5 - the 5th anniversary of the passing of Ronald Reagan, our 40th president, and the man who proved that cheerful conservatism can win elections by landslide margins.
• June 6 - the 65th anniversary of D-Day, the beginning of the end of the European War.

And that's not the end of it. On the 18th my son graduates from high school, and on the 21st turns 18. Big month for him too.
