1. “Biography matters.”The "Biography Matters" argument will be made again and again by Dems at the Sotomayor hearing. They want you to believe that where she was born and the conditions she lived in as a youth means more than what her actual judicial philosophy is.
Or as I like to call it, entitlement. He was born this way, he is entitled. Dad was Kenya? He is an expert on Africa. Muslim name? Expert on Islam. Mom was a woman? Expert on feminism.
This is not to be praised. Accomplishments should matter for they provide experience.
2. “If it’s good for the South Side, it’s good for the world.”
Such a cynical outlook on life makes one comfortable with Hugo Chavez — and uncomfortable with true democrats.
3. “Pragmatism should often trump idealism.”
He could not care less about life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness. Beware the man who will not promote the freedom of others, for he will take yours away. The last president who was pragmatic on foreign policy was Richard Nixon.
4. “America is one of many nations.”
Political relativism. He wants to bring America down to the level of Ghana –and not raise Ghana up.
5. “Young people matter.”
They mattered in Germany, too. And the Soviet Union. And China under Mao. The exploitation of youth is as old as tyranny.
The piece ended: “But for Obama it points to a bigger hope: that the change he speaks about will ultimately be generational, and therefore more lasting.”
I hope it is an aberration. America must stand tall against tyranny or else it ceases being America.
