The Flight Home

I gave the camera a bit of a workout on the flight home from Michigan. Here are some shots from the flights

We're leaving Michigan, crossing the shoreline as we head out over Lake Michigan.
Crossing the Illinois shoreline a little bit north of Chicago. The haze and sun angle made for a tough shot, but you can make out the Chicago skyline.
I zoomed in a bit as we flew by probably 20 or 30 miles north of downtown.
Leaving Chicago we crossed over Moline, IL and the Quad Cities area. That's the Mississippi River at the top, Moline inbetween the rivers, and the Quad City airport at the bottom. We passed an area where there was some unsettled weather, including these two mature thunderstorms somewhere over the Upper Midwest.

Our flight path took us across the northern part of the Grand Canyon. I took a couple of shots of the cliffs and canyons in that area.

During the descent into the Los Angeles basin we passed right by Lake Arrowhead. At this point in the flight someone was trying to drive a nail into my forehead over my left eye. My sinus meds had worn off and the pressure change on descent was killing me. My daughter had a cold and she was having problems too. Fortunately, it didn't last long.
Glad to be home.

Yes, you're correct. That's actually Lake Arrowhead.
