Recess Rally August 22

The Tea Party folks are stirring up another event to oppose nationalized health care and make some noise while Congress is away on their summer recess. It's called the "Recess Rally" and is scheduled for August 22.
Michelle Malkin has some thought:
We have the momentum to kill Obamacare.

The congressional recess period is critical.

I’ve joined many grass-roots groups in a nationwide coalition holding a Recess Rally on August 22, 2009.

The Tea Party revolt and the grass-roots counterinsurgency against the health care takeover have taken congressional offices locally and Washington, D.C. by storm.

Now, more than ever: Crank it up, spread the truth, raise your voices, and tell Washington…

Hands Off Our Health Care.

Go to Recess Rally to get organized.

Unfortunately I'll have to rally in my heart but not in person because that's the day I'll be driving the college girl back to Sonoma State. However, I hope this will pick up steam as the Tea Parties did.

Why don't you want the government to provide the OPTION for people to buy cheaper health insurance? You don't have to buy it. And, unless you earn over $500,000/year, you won't have to help pay for any of it.

Also, the plan will make it illegal for private insurance companies to drop people after they get sick and deny people if they have pre-existing conditions. What's wrong with that? You must be an executive in the insurance industry if you don't like that.

Joan makes 2 compelling points for Health Care reform.
What can anyone have againt these changes that are clearly for the people...unless you aren't one of the "people".

Hmm.. "Joan" and "susan" both have private Blogger profiles. They both post within minutes of one another...And IMAGINE THAT they both think Obamacare is a swell idea!!!

I smell something fishy. :)

I find it very Un-Christian to want to deny the poor and downtrodden of this nation affordable health care. The religious-right seems to be so far removed from the teachings of Jesus, it's ridiculous. You may think you are doing something good for this country but all you do is play into the hands of big greedy corporations that hope to keep the wealth of this country very disproportioned. Wake up!

Despite the attempt of Republicans and corporate sponsored anti-health care protesters, there is no grass roots movement to stop health care reform.

Joan and Susan represent the majority of opinion that a public option certainly makes sense (and is worth debating).

My concern is that many in Congress are already in bed with the Insurance industry, so that whatever legislation is offered will be ineffective. (We need to get revamp the

Let's see if Obama can rally the party to come up with a plan that will really make a difference.

While the Insurance and Drug industries continue with their scare tactics of socialism and killing old people, the real threat is corporate fascism (corporatism): control of government by corporations.

Yeah. There is a grass roots effort to stop health care reform. This isn't a fairy tale... pretending we don't exist doesn't make us go away. :)

Keep googling 'recess rally' and stopping by here... I'm sure our blog host appreciates the traffic.

Let me extend a welcome to all you seminar commenters. It's obvious that the word has gone out to find posts related to the Recess Rally and post opposing comments on them.

Nice try, but you people are way too obvious. The "What Would Jesus Insure" nonsense is silly, and all the "corporate sponsored anti-health care protesters" line is right out of the seminar handbook.

Nice try, but you'll have to do much better.

I think if you are anti government option plan GOOD!!!

Just one suggestion, DON'T SCREW UP AND GET CANCER, DIABETES, OR ANY OTHER CRONIC DISEASE!!!!!

I used to be a Republican who would always vote against my best intrest. But I got sick, and had the insurance company politly jacked my monthly premium up till it was out of reach.

Now I can't GET insurance anywhere!
I'm to big of a risk I guess.

God would NEVER treat his sheep this way!!

So, Dang, now you vote for your own self-interest and against the interests of the country and future generations. That's the very definition of selfishness, and certainly not a character trait (or flaw) ever promoted by God for his sheep or anybody else.
