Democrats Are Appalled by Their Own Tactics

One of the things that make this whole health care debate so fascinating is the reaction of Democrats to their own tactics. They're appalled that passionate people would show up at these meetings and vigorously challenge the high holy congressmen. They've even crossed over into Godwin's law territory and suggested that conservatives are employing Nazi methods.

Red State reminds us today that the tactics anti-Obamacare "mobs" are employing today are no different than what the Democrats and their lefty brethren employed in 2005 during the Social Security debate:
Back in 2005, George W. Bush intended to advance social security reform. The left was up in arms. They were sending droves of protestors to congressional townhalls to shout down members of Congress. Protests were held around the nation. The Teamsters, SEIU, and others fully mobilized their members to kill it. The “In This Together Campaign” organized anti-reform townhalls, then attacked members of Congress for not showing up at them. The same group sent participants into townhalls to cause problems, protest, and oppose reform efforts.

But that was back in 2005 when dissent was patriotic and the activists were funded by Hungarian billionaires.

In 2009, dissent is Nazism and protestors are not authentic since they show up on their own dime without subsidy. In Barack Obama’s America, what’s good for the goose is not good for the gander.
As far as I'm concerned, any tactic that was used by the left to disrupt conservative proposals is fair game in the health care debate. Sometimes I think the GOP and conservatives do themselves great harm by trying to position themselves as "above the fray". John McCain wouldn't let Republicans fight back against the Obama campaign, and actually denounced and apologized for people who were passionate in their opposition of the coming socialism. You can see where that got him (and us).

Some advice for Obamacare opponents: Don't go looking for the approval of the Republican leadership or the media for your actions. You're not going to get it. The more the media and the Democrats complain, the more effective you've become.

Take no prisoners.

I just looked up Steny Hoyer's phone number to give the good man a piece of my mind. On his website there's an email poll, asking whether people believe "health care reform is a priority right now."

On his own site the stats are 70% against.

Yet he has the nerve to call his critics unpatriotic.

Congressman Hoyer, like Democrats in general, thinks his office is an entitlement.

He needs to rejoin the private sector.

Exactly, Rick! The national GOP doesn't have the guts to oppose Hussein effectively. It's up to the average Joe to get down in the mud and excrement and give these leftists a taste of their own medicine.
