More Conservatives Than Liberals in All 50 States

I think this has been true all along, but now Gallup has numbers to back it up:
Self-identified conservatives outnumber self-identified liberals in all 50 states of the union, according to the Gallup Poll.

At the same time, more Americans nationwide are saying this year that they are conservative than have made that claim in any of the last four years.

In 2009, 40% percent of respondents in Gallup surveys that have interviewed more than 160,000 Americans have said that they are either “conservative” (31%) or “very conservative” (9%). That is the highest percentage in any year since 2004.

Only 21% have told Gallup they are liberal, including 16% who say they are “liberal” and 5% who say they are “very liberal.”

Thirty-five percent of Americans say they are moderate.

I've often heard Rush say that most Americans live their lives as conservatives, no matter how they may vote. Looks like more of them are now willing to admit it.

I'm a "liberal." I'll read (almost) anything. I will listen to almost anybody (if they're polite and don't harangue too long).

Oh, poff. It's not worth defending a word, is it? What "liberal" used to mean is something that we all cherish in our Bill of Rights -- freedom of speech -- and in the Beatitudes -- "do onto others."

The lefties have ruined more grand good English words -- "liberal," "gay," even "left." Medicine became health care. Abortion is choice. "Safe schools" is a program run by a high level Obama homosexual.

I don't like labels -- but I vote Republican, and I hope to God these polls are right! Might Maryland become a red state? Dare one hope?

Lovely Maryland, Maryland my Maryland!

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well theyd be singing so happily,
Joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible,
Logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
Clinical, intellectual, cynical.

There are times when all the worlds asleep,
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man.
Wont you please, please tell me what weve learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
Liberal, fanatical, criminal.
Wont you sign up your name, wed like to feel youre
Acceptable, respectable, presentable, a vegetable!

At night, when all the worlds asleep,
The questions run so deep
For such a simple man.
Wont you please, please tell me what weve learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.
