I find it hard to believe that people are so STUPID and DUMB that they leave their Cell Phones ON in a church service! Society has become nothing more than a bunch of Babies that constantly have to have a Pacifier in their mouth all the time, only their pacifier is their cell phone which is in their ear. Many of these people are so thoughtless and obnoxious that they don't hesitate disturbing other's in restaurants, doctor offices, etc. with their loud and annoying talk. In the years ahead I wonder how many of these people with have nothing in their skull but DEAD brain cells from the radioactive waves they constantly allow to damager their brain.
Goofy Dick! We usually see eye to eye, but I think you're being kind of hard on us cell phone users!
I got my first cell phone when I got my baby! A mom needs to be in touch with her kid -- that's just the modern world!
Heretofore, I used always to turn the thing off in restaurants, doctor's offices and any other place where it would be rude to use it -- or at least to put it on silent. The one I've got now, though, I've had some difficulty figuring out how to silence it. Turning it off is bad too sometimes. I have spent up to a half-hour getting it cranked up again.
So, my current protocal is to stuff it inside the most padded part of my purse to muffle the sound whenever I'm in a place where quiet is the rule.
And this mostly works. I've got a big purse, filled with junk, just like a squirrels nest, and there's plenty in there to bury the device and disrupt the sound waves.
Physics, Goofy Dick! Physics and kindness! And a bit of there but for the technology go I ....
I have to side with Goofy Dick on this one. Having to be always "connected" has become some kind of national addiction/neurosis.
I hear grade school teachers complaining that kids are getting phone calls in class and texting each other to cheat on tests. School districts are loathe to tell the little darlings to put the phones away for fear of their neurotic parents...parents, ever heard of calling the school office if there truly is some dire emergency? Really.
And Ann, if you are having trouble learning how to use your phone, hand it to a kid, he could tell you how to silence it in a New York minute.
Rick Moore is a life-long conservative, pretty darn good bass singer, and long time political junkie. He's been posting his commentary at HolyCoast.com since September, 2004.

Nightengale, hilarious! Of course, I should get instruction from an expert... any teenager should suffice!
