Political Headline of the Day

From Fox News:
Obama's 'Wee-Weed' Comment Refers to Bed-Wetting
Well, I'm glad we cleared that up. I'm not up-to-date on the latest 8th grade euphemisms.

Can we now say he's an embarrassment? He dares to apologize for America than makes ridiculous, immature comments like this? Disgusting!

LewArcher said...

Melanie, kinda like President Bush "looking" for WMDs in the White House.

Except President Obama's comments didn't involve the deaths of our soldiers.

LewArcher said...

Or Melanie, how about the former Vice president telling someone to go "f*&^ yourself."

Maybe that's the level of discourse at Smart Girl politics.

Melanie said...

Somehow I think that if a soldier was murdered on American soil at a recruitment center Pres. Bush wouldn't have ignored it. He never mentioned the 7 mysterious extra states Obama seems to have visited or claimed the Constitution was centuries older than the country.

Melanie said...

Also, news flash... Bush is no longer in office. You had 8 years to take shots at him, perhaps we could focus on the present? Can no one defend Obama's words and actions without some mention of what Bush could've/should've/would've done?

LewArcher said...

Melanie.
gotcha.
could've/should've/would've done?

I cited what Bush (and Cheney) DID DO.

Hey Llew,

"gotcha" ?

What grade are you in? Just asking.

And be factually correct.
And not swear.
Something Melanie could've/would've/should've ...

BTW, my favorite politician uses "gotcha".

Anyway, I wanted to give Rick something to smile about as he trudges north to Sonoma State.

(although he seem to really enjoy the Olberman/jacka@@ and
Maddow/Ugly Betty comment from the other day.

Looks like Bush Derangement Syndrome has long-term after effects - like the inability to hear or see anything remotely approaching criticism of The One. Since Lew enjoys living in the past, here are a couple of links to another brilliant Democrat lawyer who almost became president who also, by way of his politics, must also be someone who tells the truth, is factually correct, and doesn't swear...

I always heard a Harvard education was highly overrated. If this is how they train their graduates to speak in public --- my hearing and mental faculties are still functioning.

So what you're saying then Lew is that "No, you cannot focus on the present and have to fixate on the past?" Do you think you can change it? Will whining and crying continually about the past 8 years somehow impact anything (other than people's view of you being a whiner)? Perhaps it just makes it easier to keep your current set of blinders on?

Melanie-1

Lew-0...as usual.

Melanie, after George Bush put his Hunt For WMD show on, or after VP Cheney told someone to "go f*&^ yourself", did you write that they were
"an embarrassment"
or
Disgusting

Would you have written it?

I'd wager $10 to Children's Hospital you didn't nor would have.
And I doubt that's because you held a low opinion of President Bush.

I wonder if there is anything President Obama has said that you would not find embarrassing or disgusting.

Or as Enoch Powell would say,
"Let's talk about the future now we put the past away."

Melanie said...

Sorry Lew, I'm not a Bush worshipper, and don't think he's perfect (of course, no one is). I think he had reason to believe there were WMDs and acted on that, and I find the idea of a President acting in the best interest of national security far less embarrassing or disgusting than a President accusing people of wetting the bed. I also find Cheney's dropping the f-bomb far less embarrassing or disgusting than a President receiving oral sex in the oval office and then committing perjury, since we're bringing up history here.

Point, set, match Melanie!

Dear Melanie,
I take it then that you did not voice to anyone, or even yourself, disgust with President Bush's little comedy film that showed him looking for WMDs in the White House. This after a number of our soldiers and uncounted Iraqis had died.

I take it then that you did not voice to anyone, or even yourself, disgust and embarrassment that our Vice President swore (in German, no less).

(and if we are to travel back down the road in time, I remember there was a Texas governor who mocked a mentally retarded woman who was about to be executed.)

And it is interesting that the ones you are more disgusted with and embarrassed by have one thing in common: being a democrat.

However, despite that I'll still make a donation to Children's Hospital in your name and ask them to email the receipt to your email address, melanieannhall@gmail.com
You can claim it on your taxes.

And nightingale, post your email and I'll toss in another $10.

If the nightingales could sing like you
They'd sing much sweeter than they do
For you brought a new kind of love to me

Actually Lew, there aren't too many politicians I'm not at least somewhat disgusted with these days. They all say and do stupid things, just some more appalling than others. The media has a habit of pointing out those made by conservatives and ignoring those made by liberals and I think they should all be pointed out, or ignored. Was Bush's little skit at the correspondents dinner in poor taste? Maybe a little, but at least he can laugh at himself. It's not in any poorer taste than most of the other stuff I've seen come out of those dinners. It was certainly in less poor taste than Obama comparing his lack of bowling skills to the special olympics, or the democrats in congress mentioning "retarded" people in their health care bill.
