Seventy-eight percent (78%) of U.S. voters say every American should be allowed to purchase the same health insurance plan that members of Congress use.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only seven percent (7%) of voters disagree and 15% are not sure.
Unlike many issues related to the contentious debate over so-called health care reform, there is little disagreement on this question across all demographic categories. In its question, Rasmussen Reports did not describe the congressional health plan in any way, merely identifying it as the “health insurance plan that members of Congress use.”
If we can't have the same health care plan they have, maybe congress should have to take the public option that they want to force on the rest of us?
Actually, one congressman, Rep. Dean Heller of Nevada, tried to mandate that with an amendment to the health care bill. It was defeated.
If Congress doesn't want it, maybe we shouldn't get stuck with it either.

Haven't we all been saying this since the plan started being talked about?

I don't think very many of us can afford the Health Care Plan that Congress has. If their plan replaced Medicare that would be great, but I don't think that's gonna happen. If Congress comes up with a new nationalized health care plan for everyone, they should be included in it. If our Medicare is changed over to the nationalized plan, then Congress should not have any option, but their plan should be stopped and the members of Congress then be included in the nationalized health care plan.
