Dive! Dive! Dive!

Los Angeles Fire Department Engine 60 is having an interesting morning (from KTLA):

The engine was apparently responding to the report of a broken water main in the Valley Village area of Los Angeles.

They found it.

The rig is slowly sinking into the ooze. Fortunately, the crew got off before the cab was inundated. The entire engine may sink before this is over. The ground keeps giving way as more water rushes out of the broken main.

I may update this later with more photos.

UPDATE: Now that the sun has come up a little more we can see the extent of the problem.

Water's still coming out of that hole, so they haven't got the main shut off yet. And they'll have to figure out a way to get that rig out of there without losing something else in the hole. Looks like a job the boys of Wrecked would enjoy.

I'm just grateful that the Firemen were able to escape the truck without any loss of life. This had to have been a horrible experience for the fire crew and they were just doing their routine daily job.
I would imagine they had to go back to the station for a quick change of clothes after this adventure.
