NBC Blames GOP for Van Jones' Idiocy

According to NBC it wasn't Van Jones' radical past that made him unfit for a White House job, it was "GOP attacks":
Obama Aide Van Jones Resigns After GOP Attacks

President Obama's environmental adviser Van Jones resigned from his post late Saturday evening after he came under fire for a series of inflammatory statements he made about Republicans, the White House said early Sunday morning.

Jones, Obama's green jobs "czar," was caught on tape in an expletive-packed rant, directly attacking Republicans in the Senate who he said abused their majority position in the past to push legislation through. He told Politico after the statements were released that the comments were "inappropriate" and "offensive."

In his resignation statement, Jones summed up GOP attacks against a separate charge involving his name's appearance on a petition connected to the Sept. 11 tragedy as a "smear campaign" designed to make support for him waver.

"They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide," Jones said in the statement.
If Jones actually believed the information about him was "lies and distortions", why would he resign? Wouldn't you demand to stay and fight to clear your reputation?

Jones was undone by his own words and actions. All the GOP did was make them public, though the GOP really didn't get into the act until Jones decided to spearhead an effort to create an advertiser boycott against Glenn Beck. Beck did a little research and the information he uncovered, along with many others who started their search engines humming, gave the GOP plenty of ammunition.

Jones is a self-inflicted casualty.

Why do you think Democrats have such a majority? It's because of the brain dead politics of Republicans. You may think you have a victory here, but all you have is evidence that you haven't changed at all. Supposedly you are proud of that. Supposedly it is your death wish that is going to make you great again. Well, you will resume power eventually. I can almost guarantee you, however, these tactics will be resigned to the dust bin of history by then. Republicans will look back on behavior like this with shame. I realize you are beyond shame. It's a shame pity can't return you to power.

Yes, Jones is a self-inflicted casualty, however, one has to consider that it was Obama who chose this fella to be a czar in his administration. Seems to me like birds of a feather flock together. How many other's are there in this administration that have the same thinking as Jones.

Rant away, Craig, but Dems won't have that big majority when congress opens in 2011. They'll be lucky to have any majority at all.

Lies are distortions are okay to use if you support Mr. Jones, and are a good thing according to the Saul Alinsky philosophy of using whatever you need to use to accomplish any goal, and these same lies and distortions are presented as the truth in those cases. When the truth is presented by the opposition, then it must be characterized as lies and distortions in order to discredit it.

Craig, examine the Constitution and see if either party is adhering to it over the last 50 years or so. I suppose that you may not support adherence to The Constitution, and that, ironically, is your right under the Constitution. The USA will be in the dustbin of history if we don't get back to adhering to The Constitution, though, and again you may be in support of that as well.

I'm in support of getting back to The Constitution and holding firm there. If we do that, the central government will have MUCH less control over our lives than they do now and certainly less than the Democrats (and some Republicans) are currently seeking.

I guarantee plenty of Obama haters are rejoicing right about now!

Has Craig hitched his comment at the wrong post? What the Sam hill is he talking about?

Craig thinks that Dems have a real majority? as in they could win an election today? Must be playing lullabies on the guitar.

Are we guilty of something again? Not having "changed at all." You can tell Craig's getting his news from the state run medias.

These weirdo pals of our Crony in Chief are no accident. This is the warp and weft of the Obama administration, and half the people in the US still don't know it. We who know it can hardly believe it! I never ever thought the Dems were this weird. Never.

Also, listen to Craig's tone. The bitterness. Amazing! His guy won. His party's in power.

We lost, didn't we Rick? Did I miss something? I think our guy lost ... I'm pretty sure. Why are we so buoyant! Why are we so fired up? Why do I feel more than ever as though we are living through a defining moment in history -- an echo of the American Revolution? That we are reconnecting with the whole notion of what liberty is, and rediscovering the true dignity of man, the sense of individual people holding the creative power of society.

Goodness, I am filled with optimism with each passing day -- these Tea Parties inspire me! Ordinary citizens standing up in city after city saying Enough! We want our schools back. We want the elected officials doing the work we sent them to do -- not dictating to us.

I don't want, don't need, this intrusive greasy smarmy phoney balogny president "giving" me anything. I manage my own life, and I do it honestly -- which is a darn sight more than we can say about him.

You, my neighbors afar off, how I admire you! When I think that all over this country there are others like you! God, I am so proud.

The charlatan in chief. Good democrats, good people, had the wool pulled over their eyes. My dear friends -- most my friends are Dems -- they don't know about all this corruption. The newspapers they read are lying to them. Conservative sources are "uncool" and taboo.

But gradually the smoke of Obama's magic act dissipates, and people begin to see what a fake he is -- him and his creepy friends. And good Democrats will turn their backs on this guy. He cheated them more than he cheated us. Fifty nine million people voted for McCain. Obama won by a large margin at 69 million. In contrast George Bush beat Kerry with 62 million votes (to 59 million). McCain lost the Bush conservatives and yet still 59 million people voted for him. In 2000 neither candidate got anywhere close to 59 million. People are more motivated. But they were lied to.

Rush Limbaugh on his best days has 20 million listeners (13 on the routine days). People are paying attention now. Look at the NYtimes best sellers, and it's dominated by conservative books.

Who are the nations readers? Democrats? And all this is wonderful news for this country. If Obama manages to do it, and tanks this country that his lefties hate so vehemently, tell me which demographic will build it back up again? What part of this society possesses true grit? Which people will be putting their back to the plow?

The ninnies? The victims? The "give me" crowd? Provide my health care, give me money for a car, put me through college ... those people?

Who wants to be captains of their own destiny? The Dems?

Keep strummin' Craig, but we'll not be singing your song.

I think they were stupid for letting this guy go.

You're right, James. The Democrats were stupid. Should have kept Jones in his post, reminding the voters of the quality of appointees the current (soon to be lame duck) president makes.

Let's see. . . and isn't it the current Speaker of the House of Representatives that said we would have - under her leadership - "the most ethical Congress in history?"

She'd best be getting to the White House and show them how it's done!

I can't believe he resigned. No body is perfect but you have to have a real tough skin to be in politics.

Jones didn't spearhead the Beck boycott. He hasn't worked for the Color of Change for two years.
