Obama to Paterson: Drop Dead

The White House is fearing that the governor's seat in New York will be lost of Gov. David Paterson runs for re-election:
President Obama has sent a request to Gov. David A. Paterson that he withdraw from the New York governor’s race, fearing that Mr. Paterson cannot recover from his dismal political standing, according to two senior administration officials and a New York Democratic operative with direct knowledge of the situation.

The decision to ask Mr. Paterson to step aside was proposed by political advisers to Mr. Obama, but approved by the president himself, one of the administration officials said.

“Is there concern about the situation in New York? Absolutely,” the second administration official said Saturday evening. “Has that concern been conveyed to the governor? Yes.”
Right now there's an excellent chance that the Democrats are going to lose purple Virginia and very blue New Jersey in November. The loss of both would be a real serious warning to the Democrats for 2010.

So, where does he get off that he has the authority to tell/suggest that a sitting governor not run for election?

Obama thinks he's Caesar.

In 2010, we voters need to remind him and the rest of these demagogues that we live in a Republic, and our form of government is representative.

Rumor has it amongst westerners in NYS that the party wants Cuomo to run for Gov. ....and...another rumor afloat is that Guiliani is going to run for Mrs. Slick's old seat.
