Limbaugh To Be Dropped From NFL Bid

This is such a travesty I don't even know where to begin:
Rush Limbaugh is expected to be dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams, according to three NFL sources.

Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues and the point man in the Limbaugh group attempting to buy the Rams, realizes he must remove the controversial conservative radio host from his potential role as a minority member in the group in order to get approval from other NFL owners, the sources said.

Three-quarters of the league’s 32 owners would have to approve any sale to Limbaugh and his group. Earlier this week, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay predicted that Limbaugh’s potential bid would be met by significant opposition. Several players have also voiced their displeasure with Limbaugh’s potential ownership position, and NFL Players Association head DeMaurice Smith, who is black, urged players to speak out against Limbaugh’s bid.

Ultimately, the sources said, Checketts must reconfigure his group and find another investor to make his bid more viable.
Rush is being told that as a private citizen he cannot spend his money as he wishes because some people have chosen to spread false quotes on the internet and the media won't bother to check them out. They'll fact check Saturday Night Live skits, but not quotes that could be pretty easily checked through a simple Nexus search.

I hope Rush doesn't let the people who did this get away with it. I want lawsuits and lots of them. Some folks need to be taught an expensive lesson.

Actually, Rick, on this one I disagree. I hope Rush just walks away. Their loss. Sue against slander, if need be, but not against this decision. It's a free country, and this bias is part of the freedom too.

Meanwhile, God closes some doors and opens others. Rushbo will be okay.

Once again, I am sad to report that I don't support the NFL, so I can't stop in protest.

I am also sad to report that members of my family do support the likes of Vick and his friends and the people that drove Limbaugh out.

But I can't do anything about that.

It's sheer thuggery. The NFL should be ashamed of itself. Actions out of fear should not be tolerated. Especially when the fear is unfounded.

"It's sheer thuggery"

We are talking about the organization that thinks Michael Vick is an OK guy?

That NFL?

I am mildly disappointed that Limbaugh got involved with them, but as fa as I am concern there is noting laudable about any major league "sports".
