Fresh from a humbling loss in last year’s presidential election, Sen. John McCain is working behind-the-scenes to reshape the Republican Party in his own center-right image.So, is it to be our goal that all Republicans have humbling losses like McCain did? God help us.
If there's anything that should have been learned by McCain and others in the GOP it's that going centrist is a recipe for failure.
Conservative Republican candidates win. Squishy moderates lose because conservatives don't trust them (and why should they) and won't vote for them.

Perhaps McCain hasn't noticed that the vocal conservatives shaping politics in washington with their protests, town halls, and marches are NOT center republicans? Many aren't even republicans at all.
