An Arizona sheriff known for cracking down on people who are in the country illegally launched a crime and immigration sweep in northwestern metro Phoenix on Friday, a half day after officials in Washington limited his powers to make federal immigration arrests.He's right, you know. His job is to enforce the law and the law says you can't come into the country illegally. There's not much the Feds can do about it, unless they refuse to prosecute and that won't look very good.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, whose sweeps have led to allegations of racial profiling, said the rebuff from Washington won't stop him. He said he can still arrest immigrants under a state smuggling law and a federal law that gives all local police agencies more limited power to detain suspected illegal immigrants.
"It doesn't bother me, because we are going to do the same thing," said Arpaio, whose deputies had arrested 16 people by Friday evening on unspecified charges. "I am the elected sheriff. I don't take orders from the federal government."

The only way to get the feds attention is to pin their ears back and confront their illogic. At this point they either need to leave the man alone (he's not breaking any laws) - or intervene and expose themselves as the brainless ninnies they truly are.
Knock yourself out Washington, we already know you're gutless pissants. Prove it for us, will you?
They won't prosecute, and they don't care how it looks.
Some of them will be made czars of some sort.
I would vote for Joe The Sheriff for POTUS.
I don't care how that looks.
