Election Night Update

UPDATE: Republican Chris Christie defeats incumbent Democrat Jon Corzine in New Jersey governor's race.

UPDATE 2: Looks like Doug Hoffman's Cinderella campaign has fallen short, despite polls showing him up big. He's down by 4% with 71% reporting. Not likely to catch up. One good thing that can come of this - maybe this will banish the notion of third party candidacies for good.

UPDATE 3: Looks like Dems will hold CA-10. Not unexpected. That would have really signaled a wave election had that gone to the GOP.
-----

The GOP has swept all three top positions in Virginia by wide margins. They've also picked up a bunch of seats in the House of Delegates, so the state that went for Obama by 6% went to the GOP by 12-15%. Big turnaround.

The jury's still out in New Jersey and New York. NY-23 still looks good for Hoffman, and Patrick Ruffini, who knows a lot about this stuff, figures Christie will be up by 4% in the New Jersey governor's race, depending on the level of fraud involved. We'll see. You can follow the count in New Jersey here.

Polls are still open in California for another 2 1/2 hours, so we won't know about CA-10 for quite awhile.
