The Health Care Buffet

Last night while eating dinner at Paris Las Vegas I got a view of what the future of Obamacare will look like. Yes, it's a stretch, but stay with me.

We were eating at my wife's favorite little cafe on the fake Paris street right across from the Le Village Buffet. As usual, there was a big line waiting to get in and pay $24.99 for an all-you-can-eat dinner.

Near the entrance to the buffet was a second entrance with a sign that said "Express Entrance". The sign advertised by for an additional $7.00 per person you could skip the buffet line and go right to the food. A number of people felt the extra expense was worth it and were buying their way into the buffet ahead of the hungry patrons patiently waiting in line.

That's what Obamacare will look like. Most people will wait in lines for service (which by the way won't be 'all-you-can-eat') while others with the financial ability will simply work their own deals to buy the service they desire. Canadians have been doing that for years by coming to the U.S. for medical care they don't want to wait for in Canada, and I suspect a whole cash underground will result should Obamacare pass.

India is already a prime spot for medical tourism.

I can't tell you how many CalOptima patients have complained to me of their terrible health care, wanting socialized medicine instead. They are totally oblivious to the fact that CalOptima IS government health care. The only difference is that everyone will have to join them in their misery.

Unbelievable.
