Obama Rejecting All Options for Afghanistan

Looks like the word that Obama was going to send 40,000 more troops is premature. From HotAir:
Alternate headline: “Obama votes present.”

President Barack Obama does not plan to accept any of the Afghanistan war options presented by his national security team, pushing instead for revisions to clarify how and when U.S. troops would turn over responsibility to the Afghan government, a senior administration official said Wednesday.

That push follows strong reservations about a possible troop buildup expressed by the U.S. ambassador in Afghanistan, Karl Eikenberry, according to a second top administration official.

I guess there was too much chance we might win.

Turn it over to the Afghans? Wasn't this the front that Bush "neglected"? Wasn't this where the real battle was, against al queda? I distinctly remember hearing our dear president say that. It was part of the "crisis, crisis, crisis" talk, that Bush had our troops sitting in the wrong country fighting the wrong war. Guess that was then and this is now.
